An inquiry approach to learning underpins all curriculum areas. Encouraging students to become curious learners not only increases student engagement, but enables student voice and choice.
At St Francis Xavier School we use the inquiry process from Foundation to Year 6 to help students integrate Science (chemical, biological, environmental and earth sciences), Humanities (Geography and History), and Digital Technologies. Social development skills are developed through Inquiry, as well as cooperation, sharing, turn-taking, conflict resolution and leadership skills. Students are encouraged to manage their time effectively, to persist with any challenges and to be active problem-solvers.
