Positive Behaviour for Learning

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an evidence-based whole school framework that actively promotes positive behaviour.

PBL is an evidence-based, whole-school approach in which expected behaviours are taught to students and they are regularly recognised for meeting behavioural expectations. By establishing a common language and clear expectations, we ensure that everyone—students, staff, and families—is on the same page when it comes to maintaining a respectful and supportive environment.

Instead of guessing how to behave, our students are explicitly taught what our core values look like in action, whether they are in the classroom, playing on the oval, or moving through the school. Through consistent routines and positive reminders, we empower our students to take responsibility for their actions and make positive choices throughout the school day.

A cornerstone of the PBL framework is our emphasis on recognition and celebration. When students demonstrate our school values, their efforts are acknowledged with positive reinforcement, ranging from verbal feedback to acknowledgement at assembly. Through this proactive approach we are helping our students grow into confident, respectful, and resilient lifelong learners.
